Horizontal LVL

The reasoning behind this system is that in Gæteia no normal mortal should be out of reach for any other, just like in the real world. I am inherently against having certain npcs being unkillable until you gain a certain level. This system is a way to make pathfinders very vertical scaling flatten out abit and become more horizontal. In Gæteia there are more limitations to what power you can physically and “mentally” attain, but I hope the potential for accomplishments outside of dice rolls that your characters can achieve outweighs these restrictions…

Based on Epic6 with feats from here probably allowed by requests.

After reaching lvl 8 you stop leveling. However, for each 25,000 experience a character gains, they earn a new feat.

After x of these extra feats have been gained the cost in experience increases to 50,000

100,000

After level 8 your HD, BAB, saves and caster level no longer increase. Your character has reached the physical limit for improving in those regards. After 8th level you still gain feats, improved ability scores and class features moving forwards. You continue to gain magic talents as the normal progression. When it comes to path of war you gain new known maneuvers, but not ?meaneuvers readied? and stances. New Skills are not gained either, but can ofcourse be increased through feats.

Prerequisite BAB for feats is based on what your BAB should have been. For example Deadly finish would require a BAB of 11 so a rogue of level 15 (8+7) with a spare feat would be able to chose this feat.

Induvidual class features can be taken as feats with GM approval?

Some class abilities will probably have to be changed. Abilities such as sneak attack do not keep scaling. Bards inspire courage does not improve higher than what lvl 8 would have been. The general rule here is that you only gain the base ability up to lvl 8, not the improvement based on gaining higher levels. All class abilities are subject to change.

So to summarize, you gain new abilities, though they do not improve/get stronger.
